On 10th February, partners of the DiabetEASE project gathered in Cyprus for the official kick-off meeting, marking the start of an important European collaboration focused on strengthening inclusion and support for children living with diabetes in educational and sports settings. Hosted by ViModo Research and Education Hub, the meeting brought together project partners to establish the project’s roadmap, discuss upcoming activities, define responsibilities, and strengthen collaboration for the next year.
The DiabetEASE project aims to equip teachers, educators, and sports coaches with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to identify, understand, and effectively support children with diabetes in schools and extracurricular settings. Through innovative educational resources, training programmes, and awareness-raising activities, the project will help ensure that children with diabetes can participate safely and confidently in education and physical activities.
During the meeting, partners exchanged expertise, reviewed the project’s objectives and expected outcomes, and planned the development of training materials that will empower education professionals across Europe to better respond to the needs of children with diabetes.
